 Step 4 of 4, Maintenance The ongoing maintenance of the Voice Recorder is very important.
There are 3 parts to the ongoing maintenance.
Preventative maintenance
Faults and Failures.
General "how to" questions.

 Preventative Maintenance. This includes things like:-
Cleaning up the Hard Disk Drive removing any accumulated logs.
Making sure that your installed equipment is actually capable of handling your current/future usage of the system, (Your site may have grown or your requirements may have changed since the Pre-Install)
Fans inside the equipment may be failing.
Up-dating software, to make sure any bug fixes are installed.

 Faults and Failures This include things like:-
Component failure,
Connection failure,
Faults and Failures are usually bad news, which result in either no calls being recorded or a serious reduced ability to locate the calls.

 "How to" questions. This include things like:-
I've forgotten how to use a software feature, can you remind me?
What impact will a specific PBX change have upon the recorder?
Can it also do this?
|
A lot of these issues can be resolved or diagnosed via a phone conversation, others by permitting access to the problem system via either internet remote control software, or maybe a modem. Unfortunately, sometimes using "remote control" software can mask important symptoms, making it very difficult to find the exact cause of the issue. In these cases, and those where the system can not be connected to, via remote software, you will most likely require a site visit. Site visits allow the engineer to try to reproduce the problem, and allows you to show the engineer the exact issue, and how you actually cause it to happen.
